General Information

There are 6 assignments. Each participant gets a GIT repository for working on and submitting their assignments.

Do not change the name/path of your repository, and do not add other people to your repository!

The upstream repository is available at https://extgit.isec.tugraz.at/slp/upstream

Use the directories: Assignment 1: A1, Assignment 2: A2, and so on. Submit your work by tagging with the name of the assignment (A1, A2, etc.). Deadline: always 17:59, usually Thursdays, roughly every two weeks. Use gcc/g++ 13.x (13.3 or later) on Linux. Implement assignments according to the POSIX standard. We’re happy and eager to help you before the deadline.

Handing in code late may be possible for some assignments but strictly(!) not by more than 48 hours (very strict!). And you will lose bonus points (1 coin per 10 minutes)!

Removing the tag after the deadline (and grace period) resets the number of points on the corresponding assignment to 0 points.

Exam Modalities

This exam is mandatory.

  • Max points: 30 pts
  • Date of exam: 01.06.
  • Time: 45 minutes

You have to reach at least 15 of 30 points in the exam, at least 55 of 105 points in the assignments, and at least 75 points in total.

Overall Grading

There will be 6 assignments with a sum of 105 points and 30 points on the exam. A minimum of 50% is required on each part! Your grade will be:

  • >= 118 points ⇒ 1
  • >= 101 points ⇒ 2
  • >= 84 points ⇒ 3
  • >= 75 points ⇒ 4

Every student has a comprehension review to determine that learning goals were achieved. The comprehension review happens in a single assignment (A7) that is solved in person in the lecture hall on your own laptop! Access to local materials is permitted, access to the Internet is not permitted, access to LLMs is also not permitted. The assignment is graded automatically using testcases and the score is multiplied onto the points achieved in the assignments.

Bonus points can lead to a better grade but cannot turn a negative grade into a positive one.

You will get no grade if you do not submit any assignments.

Lecture

Lecture attendance is voluntary but strongly encouraged. The course slides will be provided in this Wiki.

Furthermore, there will be (almost) weekly question hours in the ISEC Practicals Room (CCGEG008). The question hours take place on Wednesdays from 11:30 to 12:00.

See the Classes on the main page.
