ISEC Student Research Excellence Award
Every student at ISEC who becomes a co-author of a scientific publication in the context of a thesis or project receives this award. This award is handed over each year at our Bachelor@ISEC event for peer-reviewed scientific publications accepted for publication in the last year. The award consists of an Award Certificate and a Graz voucher (GrazGutschein) worth 200 Euro. This award is generously sponsored by Stiftung SIC.
ISEC Bachelor Excellence Award 2025
This award is for students majoring in “Information Security” at TU Graz and who have completed their Bachelor’s degree with distinction at TU Graz. The next awards will be handed over in October 2025. The concrete procedure and eligibility for these awards in 2025 are as follows: A student is eligible for the award if they have completed a Bachelor’s degree at TU Graz with distinction (Gesamtbeurteilung „mit Auszeichnung bestanden“) and if that student enrols for a major in “Information Security” as part of a Master’s degree program in Computer Science (CS), Information and Computer Engineering (ICE), or Software Engineering and Management (SEM) at TU Graz between October 1st, 2024 and September 30, 2025.
The award consists of an Award Certificate and up to 1.000 Euro. The financial part of the award will be done after the awardee has successfully completed 20 ECTS of the catalogue “Information Security” according to the Master curriculum for CS, ICE, or SEM at TU Graz and has completed at least half of the compulsory courses required for a major in “Information Security” according to the corresponding degree program. Award payments are bound to this requirement, as well as the commitment to complete the “Information Security” major. The total payment sum for the ISEC Bachelor Excellence Awards is limited to 8.000 euros. No student will receive more than 1.000 euros. If there are more than eight awardees, the total payment sum of Euro 8.000 will be distributed equally among all awardees.
Apply until Oct 9th 2025! Eligible students are required to apply for the award by sending an email to awards.isec@tugraz.at that includes name, student ID number, a transcript of records of the completed Bachelor’s degree, and a copy of the corresponding Bachelor’s certificate.
The award program is planned to continue in 2026 and will be announced at Bachelor@ISEC in 2025. However, there is only an award program with a dedicated written public announcement on the ISEC website. The conditions for the award may be updated at any point in time through an update of the award announcement on the ISEC website. This award is generously sponsored by Stiftung SIC. Payments to awardees will be made directly by Stiftung SIC.

Scholarships
ISEC Scholarship for International Master Students
With its TU Graz High Potentials program, TU Graz offers scholarships for excellent students coming to TU Graz and doing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. We offer a dedicated Cybersecurity Scholarship for International Students Enrolling a Master Curriculum with a Major in “Information Security”.
ISEC Scholarship for Visiting Students
The purpose of this scholarship is to support international students in carrying out an academic visit at ISEC. It is available to students that visit ISEC to take courses, to perform research, or to do a research internship. It is not availabe to persons that are employed by TU Graz. Prior to submitting an application, prospective applicants are required to contact a professor at ISEC to formally arrange the scope, structure, and duration of a proposed visit.
To apply for the scholarship, write an email to awards.isec@tugraz.at and provide the following:
- A document defining the date, duration, and purpose of the visit
- An invitation letter by a professor of ISEC
- A cost estimate for the visit and the requested scholarship amount
